A Red Red Rose -Robert Burns

Robert Burns
     O my Luve's like a red, red rose
  That's newly sprung in June;
  O my Luve's like the melodie
  That's sweetly played in tune.

  As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
  So deep in luve am I;
  And I will luve thee still, my dear,
  Till a' the seas gang dry:

  Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
  And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
  I will luve thee still, my dear,
  While the sands o' life shall run.

  And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
  And fare thee weel awhile!
  And I will come again, my Luve,
  Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.

II. About the Author

Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), also known as Rabbie Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire and various other names and epithets was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is also in English and a light Scots dialect, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. He also wrote in standard English, and in these writings his political or civil commentary is often at its bluntest.

  1. Hello Haruka,

    I think you've done a pretty good job with this first blog post on literature. You seem to understand well how to do this assignment. My one comment is that your Reaction Points should contain more information. They are not quite complete. Oh... Also, in your section, About the Poem, you should put in information about the poem.
